I think I’m addicted to self-awareness and self-improvement.

An odd thing to be addicted to, I know.

Most people would say they’re addicted to coffee, or wine, or their favorite Netflix show.

I’m addicted to learning about myself.

When most people are looking for good recipes online, I’m searching for books like the 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos and The Miracle Morning.

My husband thinks I’m nuts.

But I’m constantly looking for ways to make my life better. Fuller. Happier. Simpler.

Especially since becoming a mom.

The Benefits of Knowing Who You Are

It’s difficult to find even two minutes to myself nowadays (I can’t even remember the last time I took a shower without my toddler bringing toys…or the dogs…in there with me).

But I still want to become the best version of myself. For my kids. For my husband. And for me.

As Socrates said…

“An unexamined life is not worth living.”

So is it really worth it to get to know yourself better?

After all, you hang out with you every single day. There couldn’t possibly be more to know, could there?

Science is showing us that there’s a distinct difference between self-aware people and people who know very little about themselves.

People who are more in-tune with themselves:

  • Have a higher level of happiness
  • Feel more confident in everyday life
  • Make friends easier
  • Let bad things go quicker
  • Have better health, both mentally and physically

The benefits are endless! Which is why I turn to Pinterest’s 30-day challenges when I’m looking to find myself.

What’s the benefit of doing a 30-day challenge?

Challenging what you know about yourself is the only way you can truly grow.

I’m much more gentle with myself now that I know myself better.

Little things that I really didn’t like about myself have become some of my biggest assets.

I’ve found I’m a much deeper, more forgiving, and sometimes braver person than I knew.

I can finally say that I’m happy with who I am – and it only took me 30 years to get to know me!

The best thing about doing 30-day challenges is the inner growth you’ll achieve – and the fun you’ll have doing it!

I’ve tried a ton of 30-day challenges so far, including a 30-day challenge for building your perfect playlist (I loved this one).

Over the years I’ve found a few that have become my favorite.

If you’re ready to try something new this year, I’ve gathered thirty of my favorite 30-day challenges for you to try!

Conquer the day

Twelve 30-Day Challenges (to Get to Know Yourself Better)

JANUARY – Gratitude
By Picking Daisies.

Although Picking Daisies originally started this challenge in November, I like to start this challenge in January so I can launch into the new year with gratitude and thankfulness! This challenge is perfect because it takes just a few minutes of reflection each day. Try this 30-day challenge when you’re feeling less-than-stellar about where you are in life. It’s helped me remember that I have so much to be thankful for.

FEBRUARY – Happiness
By Culture Trip

I’m always looking for new ways to keep some “pep in my step” (as my mother would say), which is why I loved this 30-day challenge by Culture Trip. This challenge requires you to actually step out – be active, and reach for the happiness you crave.

MARCH – Productivity
By Productivity4Procrastinators

This 30-day challenge was so incredibly life-changing, I wish I could hug all the people over at Productivity4Procrastinators. Little tasks like “make your bed” and “create a plan for your day by the hour” has helped me stay on top of things I actually want to do. (Like this blog!) I love, love, love it.

APRIL – Mental Wellness
By Well and Good

I want to be best friends with these people. Not only do they have the perfect 30-day challenge to increase your mental wellness, but they’ve also broken each daily challenge down into four different psychology-based strategies. They’ve really done their research when it comes to creating the best 30-day challenge, which is why I can’t wait for April to come around again. I love this one.

MAY – Health
By Wonder Mom Wanna Be

Our bodies and minds are tightly connected. And a 30-day health challenge helps train both your body and your mind! This 30-day challenge was wonderful for my entire being. Try this one if you’re looking for a good refresh to your health and wellness routine!

JUNE – Frugal Living
By LW Vogue

I’m constantly at war with my inner shopper, which is why this frugal living challenge really spoke to me. This 30-day challenge was all about spending, shopping, saving, and living simply, which is definitely my thing. Take this challenge when you’re ready to start doing more with your money!

JULY – Minimalism
By Anuschka Rees

Not only is this 30-day challenge beautiful, but it’s also one of the best challenges on minimalism I’ve found! It’s so easy to get wrapped up in stuff nowadays, I needed a challenge like this one to help break me out of the cycle. This one is a must-try, for sure!

AUGUST – Kindness
By Mom Generations

I tried this 30-day challenge a while ago and still go back to it each year! We all need a bit more kindness in our lives, especially if we’re working towards accepting our own personalities. Give this challenge a try when you’re feeling a bit down about humanity. I promise it will brighten your day!

By Wanna Liv

I purposely don’t do 30-day fitness challenges before the summer (too much pressure to look a certain way in shorts kills my happy vibe!) which is why this 30-day challenge for full-body fitness is perfect for September! Health is extremely important to me, and this challenge definitely pushed me to my limit…in a good way.

OCTOBER – Decluttering
By Kelly Golightly

This is one challenge I for sure needed at the beginning of this year when we were planning our five-week-long trip with my husband, two dogs, and a toddler! I’m now completely obsessed with ridding my home of junk, and this 30-day challenge was exactly what I needed.

NOVEMBER – Self Care
By Lustre Lagoon

Not only am I a huge fan of Lustre’s blog, but I’m also a big believer in caring for your mind, your body, and your heart. Creating more “me time” during the week has become a passion of mine, and the 30 Day Challenge for Self Care helped me find that balance I was craving.
